WHY? The Bayview Hill Community Centre is being expanded to provide much needed space for the Town’s growing senior population. The new wing will house seniors’ programs provided by the Town, in partnership with CICS and Carefirst. It will also include an expanded lobby and viewing area and an enclosed patio area that will connect to the rest of the Centre.

The partnerships between CICS, Carefirst and the Town have been ongoing since January 2005. CICS is a charitable agency that strengthens communities by providing a wide range of cost-effective, culturally-sensitive and professional services empowering newcomers to settle and integrate into Canadian society. Carefirst is a charitable non-profit organization that has provided community support services for Chinese seniors across the Greater Toronto Area, including York Region, for 30 years.

The Bayview Hill Community Centre was built in 1991 and already includes a gymnasium, pool, tot pool, fitness studio and several activity rooms. The official groundbreaking for the new addition will occur later this year.
